2018 Mid Year Review

We've officially reached the halfway point of 2018. For the most part, it's been kinda slow but it hasn't been without its events, high notes and exciting moments. We've had an epic battle for the ages between Pusha T and Drake, that got personal and disrespectful and ended up being called with J. Prince throwing in the towel for Drake. We've had a string of 7 song albums produced entirely by Kanye, each that created a buzz. In the coming months, releases are usually backloaded, we've been told to expect another string projects entirely produced by Kanye, from the rest of the GOOD Music family and his frequent collaborators.  In the coming months we should expect plenty of surprise albums and a plethora project as the 4th qtr backloaded, but with the ability to put music out and up on the internet at any time, traditional rollouts and release dates mean nothing, so all I can tell you is keep your eyes and ears open.

With that being said let's acknowledge the best so far and get to our list.
The Best album released so far in 2018 comes from the underground / independent side of things, Skyzoo - In Celebration of Us. Skyzoo is also so far the lyricist of the yr.  The Major label album of the year so far has been Nipsey Hussle - Victory. The Nipsey Hussle could arguably be album of the year also, it's definitely his best project, he showed so much growth and improvement on this album it's crazy. There have been more anticipated, bigger surprise releases, and projects with more buzz, but none have lived up to the quality of these two.  Below is a short list of the best so far of what 2018 has offered us. If you haven't heard any of these I suggest you check them out. We'll see you at the end of the year list where we'll see how many of these first half releases can hold on to top spots.
