Bump It Or Dump It 76 & 77

Strong Bump – A hit. I really like it. Rewind worthy. Unquestionable Smash Hit. Extremely rewind-worthy and one of the better records out currently. Next to no flaws to pick out, something that you'll be supporting/playing daily. Something you predict will be a Top-15 Hit or higher.

Weak Bump – It’s listenable. Something you have to be in the mood to listen to. Not Bad. A Good Moderate Hit. Quality & above average; has more positives than negatives. Might need to grow on you/others, but could catch on. Not a clear smash hit, but something you'd genuinely want people to check out, so you’ll be supporting/playing it occasionally. Something you predict will be a Top-50 hit.

Weak Dump – Don’t really like it. Might like parts of it but not the whole composition. Could grow on you. Underwhelming. Sup-Par Record. Not bad, but definitely missing the mark somewhere. More negatives than positives. Listenable, as you might like some parts but not the whole composition. You don’t hate it and could understand it’s buzz, but you know you won’t be supporting/playing it much. Something you predict that won’t be on airwaves very long or have much replay value.

Strong Dump – Get rid of it. Absolutely don’t like it. Garbage. Hate It.
Complete Trash. A record you absolutely hate and has next to no positives at all. Garbage, and a waste of your time; that you’d want to warn people away from. Something that you’re sure you’ll never be supporting/playing ever; and predict that it’ll fail commercially.
Green = rising
Red = declining

Now for this week's singles.
Simple rules:
As we do every week, I'll give you the Top-9 new singles officially sent to Urban-format radio stations, that are either beginning to chart right now or expected to chart soon. In exchange, you can have & listen to them, and personally comment below, stating if you would *Bump It* or *Dump It* for each record and why... [Strong Bump, Weak Bump, Weak Dump, or Strong Dump]
76
"BOO'D UP" (Ella Mai),
Currently @ #33 on Urban formats;
via Interscope,
[beginning w/ 1009 Daily US Spins]. – It’s really good song, the way it’s produced it’s a great song for the beginning of the quiet storm hour, but it’s recent and relevant enough to play throughout the day. It’s smooth and has traditional r&b elements and an updated sound. I hope this gets an opportunity. But Realistically I’d expect it to probably be maybe a top 30  record if received well. – Weak Bump

"LOVE LIES" (Khalid f/ Normani),
Debuting @ 38 on Rhythmic/Club formats;
Shipped to Urban formats 03/08/18;
[beginning w/ 645 + 124 Daily US Spins]. – It’s a good song but I don’t know if Urban radio will give it a chance. I could see it getting a few spins on urban contemporary, but I don’t see it fitting in on Urban stations. Never the less, I like the song – Weak Bump

"POWERGLIDE" (Rae Sremmurd f/ Juicy J),
Debuting @ #46 on Urban formats;
+ Debuting @ #45 on Rhythmic/Club formats;
Shipped to Pop formats 03/12/18;
via Ear Drummers/Interscope,
[beginning w/ 570 + 524 Daily US Spins]. – It’s not great but it’s not bad either. Definitely can see it on the radio, it has good energy. I expect to hear it on television, I can see it being used at sporting arenas, and ESPN will definitely use it for highlights. It’ll definitely get plenty burn in the clubs and strip clubs. I expect radio to gravitate to it and make it at least a top 15 record and it’ll probably stick around for a long time – Weak Bump

"WHERE YOU COME FROM" (Tigo B f/ Luke Nasty),
Debuting @ #48 on Urban formats;
Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats 03/05/18;
via NuKingz Conglomerate,
[beginning w/ 514 Daily US Spins]. Its very basic but it's fits radio format so I wouldn’t be shocked if it got radio play. I'm not really a fan, its nothing I would want to listen to, I found myself kind of just tuning it out as it played. Its probably like a top 30-35 type of single. – Weak Dump

"MAD LOVE" (Sean Paul f/ David Guetta & Becky G),
Debuting #46 on Pop formats;
Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats 03/04/18;
[beginning w/ 430 Daily US Spins]. – It’s good to hear from Sean Paul. The track is decent but it’s too pop for Urban radio. It’ll do well on pop and rhythmic outlets, get some club spins. But I would be shocked for it to cross into urban or even be played in reggae dancehall environment. I don’t expect this track to be embraced by the culture but loved outside of it. – Weak Dump

"PROUD" (2 Chainz f/ YG & Offset),
Shipped to Urban formats;
Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats 03/05/18;
via Def Jam.
[beginning w/ 223 Daily US Spins].  – This can go either way. It’s pretty good, but it doesn’t stand out. It might be given a chance based on who’s on the track, but for the most part, it’s a solid album cut.I wouldn’t be shocked to hear it in the club. If it gets radio play I’d expect it to be in the 30’s. – Weak Bump

"HEEBIEJEEBIES" (Aminé f/ Kehlani),
Shipped to Urban formats + Pop formats;
+ Rhythmic/Club formats 03/12/18;
via Republic,
[beginning w/ 184 Daily US Spins]. – This could go either way also. It’s a pretty good track, but it may be too calm for the current radio vibe where everything seems to be turn up related. I’d be shocked if it’s given a chance to succeed on urban radio, I'm not sure if it would do much better in urban contemporary it sounds too youthful for the more mature crowd, but I'm not sure it’s a pop record either. But I do sort of like it – Weak Bump

"MONDAY TO MONDAY" (Roy Wood$),
Shipped to Urban formats;
+ Rhythmic/Club formats;
+ Adult Contemp./R&B formats 03/12/18;
via OVO Sound/Warner Bros.,
[beginning w/ 154 + 23 Daily US Spins]. – I can see it getting minimal play and being in the mid 30’s to early 40’s range. It’s possible it could make a short climb and stay for a while. It has a club feel and vibe but it’s not a guaranteed hit or party starter. It’s not a must hear selection – Weak Dump

"COLORS" (Tee Grizzley),
Shipped to Urban formats;
+ Rhythmic/Club formats 03/06/18;
via 300/Atlantic,
[beginning w/ 72 Daily US Spins]. – The beat is ok. But the lyrical execution needs work. Tee grizzly raps the same and it seems like he talks about the same thing on every track. I doubt this gets radio play. Maybe it becomes an underground hit or mixtape classic. – Weak Dump

77

"SOBER" (G-Eazy f/ Charlie Puth),
Debuting @ #39 on Rhythmic/Club formats;
Shipped to Urban formats 3/17/18;
via RCA.,
[beginning w/ 599 Daily US Spins]. I like it. It’s good songwriting and fits radio format. It’s not a very hype recording, but it could still be a top 20 album on urban radio. I be shocked if this doesn’t get some radio spin, it’s kind of soulful, it stands out and has a nice full sound. It’s a breath of fresh air from the strip down and simple sounds that are currently on the radio, yet it’s still not overly complicated. – Weak Bump

"HEARTS AIN'T GONNA LIE" (Arlissa f/ Jonas Blue),
Debuting @ #47 on Pop formats;
Shipped to Urban formats;
+ Rhythmic/Club formats 3/14/18;
via Virgin EMI/Def Jam/Universal.,
[beginning w/ 413 + 71 Daily US Spins].  – It started off good, but it opened up to much. It’s good for rhythmic and pop, but I'd be severely shocked if this crosses over to urban radio. – Weak Dump

"FREAKY FRIDAY" (Lil Dicky f/ Chris Brown),
Debuting @ #49 on Rhythmic/Club formats;
Shipped to Urban formats 03/19/18;
via Commission Music/BMG Dist.,
[beginning w/ 345 + 363 Daily US Spins]. – I’m not a fan of the execution. This could go either way. On one hand, it’s playful and creative on the other hand it’s a concept record, and you have to actually pay attention to what’s going on to get the whole idea. I don’t know if people like paying attention to lyrics and concepts anymore. I like it more than I hate it tho – Weak Bump

"SOLITAIRE" (Gucci Mane f/ Migos & Lil Yachty),
Shipped to Urban formats;
+ Rhythmic/Club formats 03/15/18;
via GUWOP/QC/Motown/Atlantic/Capitol.,
[beginning w/ 324 + 42 Daily US Spins]. – I like the beat, but the lyrics and hook were all garbage. It has the potential to be on radio based on what’s currently getting spins it fits right in. It doesn’t have that it factor that pushes it to the top of the charts but it could be a top 20-30 hit easily. – Weak Dump

"SET TRIPP'N" (Casanova),
Shipped to Urban formats;
+ Rhythmic/Club formats 03/16/18;
via Def Jam.,
[beginning w/ 171 Daily US Spins]. The beat is decent, the delivery and lyricism need work. Its street and gritty, but unfortunately that style of music is not getting much airplay on the radio. It’s not upbeat enough – Weak Dump

"BOSSY" (Keke Palmer),
Shipped to Urban formats;
+ Rhythmic/Club formats 03/19/18;
via Big Boss Ent.,
[beginning w/ 163 Daily US Spins]. – This has a strong shot at getting radio play. The production is catchy and versatile. I could easily hear this being played in the club, it can be played any time of the day, and it’ll sound good coming out of speakers in the car. This is could be an easy top 15 hit. It’s easy to sing along too and has good energy – Strong Bump

"KISS ON ME" (Votte Hall),
Shipped to Adult Contemporary/R&B formats 3/17/18;
via Ecka Music Group.,
[beginning w/ 62 Daily US Spins]. – This one is tricky. It has an 80’s production sound. Sounds like something Pharell would make. Currently, not a lot of experimental sounds are on the radio so I’m going to say radio success eludes it. But if it gets a little buzz, it’ll be in the 40’s or lower 30’s. I kind of like it for the nostalgic feeling- Weak Bump

"FLORIDA BOY" (Rick Ross f/ T-Pain & Kodak Black),
Shipped to Urban formats;
+ Rhythmic/Club formats 03/05/18;
via MMG/Epic.,
[beginning w/ 34 Daily US Spins]. – It’s definitely jamming. I just feel like it’s a regional record. It works for radio, works for the club, and will probably blare out of every system in South Florida. – Strong Bump

"NOWHERE FAST" (Eminem f/ Kehlani),
Shipped to Urban formats + Pop formats;
+ Rhythmic/Club formats 3/19/18;
via Shady/Aftermath/Interscope.,
[beginning w/ 27 Daily Us Spins]. – It’s a pretty good song. It’s relevant and about current events, so it may get some spins for its political nature. I expect it to be about a top 30 if it gets significant radio spins. – Weak Bump
