Strong Bump – A hit. I really like it. Rewind worthy. Unquestionable Smash Hit. Extremely rewind-worthy and one of the better records out currently. Next to no flaws to pick out, something that you'll be supporting/playing daily. Something you predict will be a Top-15 Hit or higher.
Weak Bump – It’s listenable. Something you have to be in the mood to listen to. Not Bad. A Good Moderate Hit. Quality & above average; has more positives than negatives. Might need to grow on you/others, but could catch on. Not a clear smash hit, but something you'd genuinely want people to check out, so you’ll be supporting/playing it occasionally. Something you predict will be a Top-50 hit.
Weak Dump – Don’t really like it. Might like parts of it but not the whole composition. Could grow on you. Underwhelming. Sup-Par Record. Not bad, but definitely missing the mark somewhere. More negatives than positives. Listenable, as you might like some parts but not the whole composition. You don’t hate it and could understand it’s buzz, but you know you won’t be supporting/playing it much. Something you predict that won’t be on airwaves very long or have much replay value.
Strong Dump – Get rid of it. Absolutely don’t like it. Garbage. Hate It.
Complete Trash. A record you absolutely hate and has next to no positives at all. Garbage, and a waste of your time; that you’d want to warn people away from. Something that you’re sure you’ll never be supporting/playing ever; and predict that it’ll fail commercially.

Red = declining

Now for this week's singles.
Simple rules:
As we do every week, I'll give you the Top-9 new singles officially sent to Urban-format radio stations, that are either beginning to chart right now or expected to chart soon. "ON THE LOOSE" (Niall Horan),
Debuting @ #38 on Pop formats;
Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats 02/24/18;
via Capitol,
[beginning w/ 978 Daily US Spins]. - I'll pass. Doesn’t sound urban at all. It does however sound throwback, like something America or Average White Band would make back in the day. I think this more of a soft rock type of vibe, but nothing that will cross over to Urban radio. I don’t hate it but I have no desire to hear it again. Strong Dump

"SO GOOD" (Big Sean & Metro Boomin' f/ Kash Doll),
Currently @ #41 on Urban formats;
Currently @ #40 on Rhythmic/Club formats;
via GOOD Music/Boominati/Def Jam/Republic,
[beginning w/ 830 + 635 Daily US Spins]. – I’ll be honest I was kind of numb and indifferent to the listening experience. It was kind of just background noise each time I heard it. I feel as if it could have been done better. It’s kind of predictable, could have been more creative. Unless they have one hell of a clean version I cant see this one getting much radio play, maybe some club spins. – Weak Dump
"IDGAF" (Dua Lipa),
Debuting @ #47 on Pop formats;
Shipped to Rhymthmic/Club formats;
via Warner Bros.,
[beginning w/ 652 Daily US Spins]. – Doesn’t do much for me, it’s moderately catch due to the hook, an text lingo, so it may appeal to a younger crowd. Not really urban, I don’t expect it to crossover – Weak Dump
"PSYCHO" (Post Malone f/ Ty Dolla Sign),
Debuting @ #39 on Rhythmic/Club formats;
Shipped to Urban formats + Pop formats 2/24/18;
via Republic,
[beginning w/ 637 Daily US Spins]. – It’s a very calm record but it sounds like it's out of season; this sounds like a summer record for cruising around. Its pretty good, the cadence and flow of it make it kind of interesting. I like it more than I dislike it. I’m not sure how well it does or if it get radio play. – Weak Bump
"ALL I KNOW" (Danileigh f/ Kes),
Debuting @ #43 on Urban formats;
Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats 2/19/18;
via Republic,
[beginning w/ 621 + 177 Daily US Spins]. – The Use of the Aretha Franklin One step Ahead sample is big and will also probably breathe new life into Mos Def’s Ms. Fat Booty, I can already see stations playing them back to back or mixing them together. And the subtle use of the Denice Williams “Free” in the hook is also a nice touch. It's two well known classic samples put together very well, and the original parts are really good. I’m going to predict this as a hit, let's say at least top 20. It’s Jamming, its nostalgic. – Strong Bump
"LA MODELO" (Ozuna f/ Cardi B),
Currently @ #4 on Latin formats;
Shipped to Pop formats + Urban formats;
+ Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats 01/16/18;
via Hear The Music/VP/Sony Latin,
[beginning w/ 403 + 119 + 54 Daily US Spins]. – It doesn’t stand out or move me, I can’t see it catching fire and crossing over in a big way. – Strong Dump
"SAVIOR" (Iggy Azalea f/ Quavo),
Debuting @ #50 on Pop formats;
Shipped to Rhymthmic/Club formats;
+ Urban formats formats 02/27/18;
via Island,
[beginning w/ 383 + 103 + 84 Daily US Spins]. – Maybe it's me but a lot of these songs have a similar sound and production style. It’s ok, It doesn’t jump out at me, I don’t know if it’s a hit but it could get a little bit of radio play. I was left a little numb with this one also, I suppose I like it more than dislike – Weak Bump
"ROCK" (Plies),
Debuting @ #50 on Urban formats;
+ Rhythmic/Club formats 02/25/18;
via Big Gates/Slip-N-Slide/Atlantic,
[beginning w/ 353 + 118 Daily US Spins]. – It sounds lazy. It’s simplistic and not very creative.– Strong Dump
75
"TOP OFF" (DJ Khaled f/ Jay-Z, Beyonce, & Future),
Currently @ #38 on Urban formats;
Currently @ #44 on Rhythmic/Club formats;
via Epic,
[beginning w/ 915 + 556 Daily US Spins]. – It’s another Dj Khaled attempt at making a song an event, but it’s not a blockbuster; just another song I’ll soon be annoyed with. The verse from Jay is as good as you can expect from him these days, then the song just goes downhill from there. The future verse, actually his presence is a waste an unnecessary and the Beyoncè verse just seems artificial. It’ll chart well based on the personalities involved, it’ll easily be a top 5 recording, Weak Dump

"NO EXCUSES" (Meghan Trainor),
Debuting @ #43 on Pop formats;
Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats 03/04/18;
via Epic,
[beginning w/ 755 Daily US Spins]. – It’s upbeat, catchy and whimsical; but it also seems kind of kids boppish. It’s not the kind of song I’d take seriously, and it’s way too pop to cross over to urban radio. – Weak Dump
"ICY GRL" (Saweetie),
Debuting @ #50 on Urban formats;
Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats 03/01/18;
via Warner Bros.,
[beginning w/ 519 Daily US Spins]. – Just from the cadence and delivery I knew it was going to sample “ My Neck, My Back”. It doesn’t sound like a radio single, it sounds like a freestyle for a mixtape. I wouldn’t be shocked if for nostalgic sake it got some radio spins but I don’t expect any rapid upward movement. – Weak Dump
"EVERYDAY" (Logic f/ Marshmello),
Shipped to Urban formats;
+ Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats 03/02/18;
via Def Jam,
[beginning w/ 366 Daily US Spins]. – It’s different for Logic and it’s a step after his last project. It's too sing songy and not authentic to the type of music he’s known for creating. It may get him on the charts, possibly top 25-30 recording. – Weak Bump
"MEMORY LANE" (Xscape),
Currently #33 on Adult Contemp./R&B formats;
Shipped to Urban formats 2/16/18;
via Xscap3 Ent./CCA,
[Currently 333 Daily US Spins]. - It’s missing something, but I'm not sure what. It’s alright but it’s not a single and it’s not big enough for group of their caliber trying to become relevant in a new generation after a long hiatus and a successful reunion tour. – Weak Bump
"SAUCE IT UP" (Lil Uzi Vert),
Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats;
Shipped to Urban formats + Pop formats 2/26/18;
via Generation Now/Atlantic,
[beginning w/ 296 Daily US Spins].This is not that bad. It’s lyrically basic, weak and predictable. However, the cadence, flow and energy are the saviors that make the song bearable. It’ll probably be a top 20 hit that sticks around for a while. – Weak Bump
"MAKE ME FEEL" (Janelle Monae),
Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats;
Shipped to Urban formats + Pop formats 3/01/18;
via Wonderland/Bad Boy/Sony/Epic,
[beginning w/ 135 + 83 + 31 Daily US Spins]. – It has a very different style, almost a Prince type of vibe. This is a tricky one that could go either way. I personally think it’ll go right over most peoples head. It’s a little too artistic for Urban radio. Pretty good song never the less – Weak Bump
"BRING IT BACK" (Trouble f/ Drake),
Shipped to Urban formats;
+ Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats on 2/22/18;
via Duck Tape Ent.,
[beginning w/ 148 Daily US Spins]. – The Beat is horrible, and the drums are terrible. It’s just a bad situation all around. There’s no pocket so the lyrical delivery is not only weak but a mess – Strong Dump
"TEMPERATURE" (Tyga),
Shipped to Urban formats;
+ Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats on 3/01/18;
via Last Kings Music/EMPIRE Dist.,
[beginning w/ 99 Daily US Spins]. – It’s not his lane, and I’m not sure he has an established lane but the half singing, half rapping style is definitely not for him. The song making skill is low and the lyrics are not up to snuff. –Strong Dump
