Bump It Or Dump It! , Vol. 69

Strong Bump – A hit. I really like it. Rewind worthy. Unquestionable Smash Hit. Extremely rewind-worthy and one of the better records out currently. Next to no flaws to pick out, something that you'll be supporting/playing daily. Something you predict will be a Top-15 Hit or higher.

Weak Bump – It’s listenable. Something you have to be in the mood to listen to. Not Bad. A Good Moderate Hit. Quality & above average; has more positives than negatives. Might need to grow on you/others, but could catch on. Not a clear smash hit, but something you'd genuinely want people to check out, so you’ll be supporting/playing it occasionally. Something you predict will be a Top-50 hit.

Weak Dump – Don’t really like it. Might like parts of it but not the whole composition. Could grow on you. Underwhelming. Sup-Par Record. Not bad, but definitely missing the mark somewhere. More negatives than positives. Listenable, as you might like some parts but not the whole composition. You don’t hate it and could understand it’s buzz, but you know you won’t be supporting/playing it much. Something you predict that won’t be on airwaves very long or have much replay value.

Strong Dump – Get rid of it. Absolutely don’t like it. Garbage. Hate It.
Complete Trash. A record you absolutely hate and has next to no positives at all. Garbage, and a waste of your time; that you’d want to warn people away from. Something that you’re sure you’ll never be supporting/playing ever; and predict that it’ll fail commercially.

Red = declining

Now for this week's singles.
Simple rules:
As we do every week, I'll give you the Top-9 new singles officially sent to Urban-format radio stations, that are either beginning to chart right now or expected to chart soon. In exchange, you can have & listen to them, and personally comment below, stating if you would *Bump It* or *Dump It* for each record and why... [Strong Bump, Weak Bump, Weak Dump, or Strong Dump]

"FINESSE" (Bruno Mars f/ Cardi B),
Debuting #24 on Pop formats;
+ #25 on Rhythmic/Club formats + #37 on Urban formats;
+ #38 on Adult Contemp./R&B formats;
Shipped via Atlantic.
[beginning w/ 2,742 + 1,341 + 840 + 93 Daily US Spins]. – Should be a hit and make a rapid climb to the top. I like the whole old-school vibe of it, it has a complete late 80’s early 90’s vibe. It’s very much a party album, and if no one else likes it older crowds will love it. – Weak Bump

"BROKEN CLOCKS" (SZA),
Debuting #49 on Urban formats;
Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats 01/07/18;
via TDE/RCA.
[beginning w/ 526 Daily US Spins]. – This is probably a top 10 album. I can see plenty of radio play for it. Less shock value than the weekend, but more relatable and a good follow up. The delivery is clean, the beat is jamming yet smooth, it could possibly be played in the club; early in the night tho. – Strong Bump

"ALL THE STARS" (Kendrick Lamar f/ SZA),
Debuting #50 on Urban formats;
via TDE/Aftermath/Interscope.
[beginning w/ 508 Daily US Spins]. – It’s a perfect collaboration; it sounds like a song both of them would make and they both get to shine. I expect a top 10 hit out of this I expect this will cross over to other formats. – Strong Bump

"FILTHY" (Justin Timberlake),
Debuting #42 on Rhythmic/Club formats;
Shipped to Pop formats + Urban formats 01/08/18;
via RCA.
[beginning w/ 492 Daily US Spins]. – It’s ok, but it doesn’t sound like a fit for Justin, it sounds more like something Miguel would do. It doesn’t sound authentic, it sounds contrived. I’m unsure if it’ll chart or not, this type of sound is hit or miss. – Weak Dump

"LET ME SHOW YOU" (Bluff City),
Currently #34 on Adult Contemp./R&B formats;
Shipped to Urban formats 12/23/17;
via NuVision Ent.
[148 Daily US Spins].Good traditional R&B. I've never heard of this group but would love to hear more. Its one of those songs that very early into the song you can feel it’s going to be a good one. The singing and the arrangements are on point. It’ll do well with older audiences, but sadly I don’t think it’ll get any love to cross over to mainstream radio. – Strong Bump

"FAMILY FEUD" (Jay-Z f/ Beyonce),
Shipped to Urban formats 01/05/18;
via Roc Nation/Universal.
[beginning w/ 142 Daily US Spins]. – It’ll get plenty radio play, probably eventually be #1, just because it’s Jay and Bey; but honestly, the song doesn’t do anything for me. It doesn’t really jam, entertain or impress me, its low-level Jay-Z to me; yet still better than a lot that’s out and one of the better songs on the album – Weak Bump

"RIC FLAIR DRIP" (Offset f/ Metro Boomin'),
Shipped to Urban formats;
+ Rhythmic/Club formats 01/02/18;
via SlaughterGang/QC/Epic/Motown/Capitol.
[beginning w/ 105 Daily US Spins].  – Instant Club Hit off the beat alone. I can see it playing at every college party and strip club. It has a more traditional flow, rather than the triplet flow that members of migos do constantly. It shows versatility. I think it has potential to be in the top 15-20 range. It’s not great, but its tolerable, more good than bad. – Weak Bump

"BETRAYED" (Lil' Xan),
Shipped to Urban formats;
+ Rhythmic/Club formats 01/02/18;
via Columbia.
[beginning w/ 68 Daily US Spins]. – It sounds uninspired and off the cuff. The flow is basic and so is the word selection. It doesn’t sound very creative. Could get radio play but probably hovers around the bottom of the charts – Strong Dump

"WANNA BE YOURS" (Guordan Banks),
Shipped to Adult Contemp./R&B formats;
+ Urban formats 12/14/17;
via Bank-On-It Ent./eOne.
[beginning w/ 33 Daily US Spins]. – This is Jamming something serious. Subject matter, delivery and the maturity of it should get it some adult contemporary spins. That driving beat that induces the slow head nod should get it on mainstream radio. It’s a very repeat-worthy song. It's relatable, soulful and relevant sounding.  It can be played anytime of the day. I’d be interested to hear more from this artist if given a chance this could be a break out hit. – Strong Bump
