Strong Bump – A hit. I really like it. Rewind worthy. Unquestionable Smash Hit. Extremely rewind-worthy and one of the better records out currently. Next to no flaws to pick out, something that you'll be supporting/playing daily. Something you predict will be a Top-15 Hit or higher.

Weak Bump – It’s listenable. Something you have to be in the mood to listen to. Not Bad. A Good Moderate Hit. Quality & above average; has more positives than negatives. Might need to grow on you/others, but could catch on. Not a clear smash hit, but something you'd genuinely want people to check out, so you’ll be supporting/playing it occasionally. Something you predict will be a Top-50 hit.

Weak Dump – Don’t really like it. Might like parts of it but not the whole composition. Could grow on you. Underwhelming. Sup-Par Record. Not bad, but definitely missing the mark somewhere. More negatives than positives. Listenable, as you might like some parts but not the whole composition. You don’t hate it and could understand it’s buzz, but you know you won’t be supporting/playing it much. Something you predict that won’t be on airwaves very long or have much replay value.

Strong Dump – Get rid of it. Absolutely don’t like it. Garbage. Hate It.
Complete Trash. A record you absolutely hate and has next to no positives at all. Garbage, and a waste of your time; that you’d want to warn people away from. Something that you’re sure you’ll never be supporting/playing ever; and predict that it’ll fail commercially.

Now for this week's singles.
Simple rules:
As we do every week, I'll give you the Top-9 new singles officially sent to Urban-format radio stations, that are either beginning to chart right now or expected to chart soon. In exchange, you can have & listen to them, and personally comment below, stating if you would *Bump It* or *Dump It* for each record and why... [Strong Bump, Weak Bump, Weak Dump, or Strong Dump]

"FOR YOU" (Liam Payne f/ Rita Ora),
Debuting #39 on Pop formats;
+ Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats 01/14/18;
via Universal/Capitol/Atlantic,
[beginning w/ 747 + 296 Daily US Spins]. – It’s an alright record, I’m not in love with it. It doesn’t really catch and keep my attention, it neither stirred my soul or entertained me. But, it's decently solid, will definitely grab some radio play and probably stick around for a little while. I dislike it more than I like it – Weak Dump

"WORK" (Q Money),
Debuting #48 on Urban formats;
+ Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats 01/21/18;
via B4G Music Group/Red Bricks Inc.,
[beginning w/ 456 + 99 Daily US Spins].Sounds like everything else in the lane, it doesn’t stand out at all. The hook is lame and repetitive, has a decent flow but isn’t really saying anything or being creative, it’s extremely elementary and lacks creativity. – Strong Dump

"MELANIN MAGIC [PRETTY]" (Remy Ma f/ Chris Brown),
Debuting #49 on Urban formats;
+ Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats 01/21/18;
via Columbia,
[beginning w/ 451 + 136 Daily US Spins]. -  Just off the nostalgia of the sample, I expect it to get some radio play. It’s semi-positive, uplifting and empowering and has a chance to be tied into the whole “melanin popping” and “black girl magic” hashtags and movement. It’s pretty decent, but I’m not sure where or if it fits into the radios regular rotation, but having Chris Brown on the hook may help. – Weak Bump

"STILL THINK I'M NOTHING" (50 Cent f/ Jeremih),
Shipped to Urban formats 01/16/18;
via G-Unit/Caroline Dist.,
[beginning w/ 431 Daily US Spins]. – It’s raw, gritty and aggressive, classic 50. But it’s too hard for today's radio, it’s on point it just sounds like a really good album cut. I don’t think it’s simple or catchy enough to get the attention of commercial radio. But I like it – Weak Bump

"SUPPLIES" (Justin Timberlake),
Shipped to Pop formats;
+ Rhythmic/Club formats;
+ Urban formats 01/21/18;
via RCA.,
[beginning w/ 343 + 339 Daily US Spins]. – It’s different than what you’re accustomed to hearing from Justin for a radio single.  I’m not sure if it’s a radio single, but the folks at Walking Dead need to find a way to tie it to their brand. The song doesn’t really spark my interest, and I'm not quite sure what it’s really about - Weak Dump

"GOD'S PLAN" (Drake),
Shipped to Urban formats;
+ Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats 01/21/18;
via OVO/Young Money/Cash Money/Universal,
[beginning w/ 306 + 79 Daily US Spins]. – It’s already breaking the streaming record so expect it to shoot to number one with a bullet. It's very laid back, borderline boring. He did nothing to make this song interesting; low energy, simple delivery, simple hook, nothing complex about the bars. All of this makes it perfect for radio because people can sing along to it and they get to feel like they could have written it and probably can rap. Overall I didn’t really like it, it may be commercially viable but not artistically. It sounds like a throwaway track on a mixtape. – Weak Dump

"KING'S DEAD" (Jay Rock f/ Kendrick Lamar & Future),
Shipped to Urban formats 01/18/18;
via TDE/Interscope,
[beginning w/ 190 + 52 Daily US Spins]. – I honestly think its too complex for the radio, with the change in the beat at the end. It lyrically fits the radio but that lyrical style and delivery are not authentic to Jay Rock and it throws everything off. It doesn’t sound like a radio single at all, sounds like something you’d hear on a soundtrack or a score. – Weak Dump

"HOW MANY WAYS" (Keith Sweat f/ K-Ci),
Debuting #34 on Adult Contemp./R&B formats;
+ Shipped to Urban formats 01/19/18;
via KDS Ent.,
[beginning w/ 182 Daily US Spins]. This is damn good. Its authentic to both artist, it makes no attempts to be anything that it isn’t or that the artists are not. It's just good pure R&B. The vocals are strong and rich, the production is smooth. I don’t expect it to cross over to the mainstream, but it should get a beautiful welcoming reception from older r&b heads and do really well on Adult Contemporary. It’s a collaboration I didn’t even know I wanted to hear, but it works so well. – Strong Bump

"ALL THE WAY" (Ledisi),
Debuting #37 on Adult Contemp./R&B formats;
via Verve/Universal,
[beginning w/ 169 Daily US Spins]. – It’s beautiful, it’s just not a mainstream radio single. This will be sung at weddings and used as a first dance at receptions. You’ll probably see this used in a scene for a movie or a tv show real soon.  I hope it gets radio play, but this kind of deep emotional R&B doesn’t usually get play outside of Adult Contemporary stations.  Strong Bump

It‘s a good week considering it's a slow week for new singles. Some good songs, but not sure how many will actually sneak on to the charts, only time will tell.
If you want to download these for yourself click the link, judge them for yourself and let me know rather you would bum or this week's new singles? Leave your comments and let me know if I got it right or wrong. Because the first quarter of the year is so slow for new radio singles, ill be posting news Bump It or Dump It singles every two weeks until volume picks up. Ill continue to tracking past singles that are already on the charts as they rise and fall weekly, until we get back to normal when I can do both.
