Grammy Predictions

Tonight is the Grammy Awards. I'm not really a fan of award shows, but as a music analyst and writer, I was tasked with making predictions for the industries big night. SO I decided to share my picks with you. I won't be watching and I don't really put much stock into most award shows, but I won't go into a long reason on why and ruin it for those of you that like it. Anyway below are my predictions, we'll check back in and see if I was right about anything. 

Results, so of the categories  I picked I called the following categories correct

Album of the Year: “24K Magic” — Bruno Mars

Song of the Year: “That’s What I Like” — Christopher Brody Brown, James Fauntleroy, Philip Lawrence, Bruno Mars, Ray Charles McCullough II, Jeremy Reeves, Ray Romulus and Jonathan Yip, songwriters (Bruno Mars)

Best Urban Contemporary Album: “Starboy” — The Weeknd

Best R&B Album: “24K Magic” — Bruno Mars

Best Rap Performance: “HUMBLE.” — Kendrick Lamar

Best Rap Song: “HUMBLE.” — K. Duckworth, Asheton Hogan and M. Williams II, songwriters (Kendrick Lamar)

Best Rap Album: “DAMN.” — Kendrick Lamar

And I Had one near miss. I said that  Kendrick deserved the award but I didn't expect him to win it, but he did. 

Best Rap/Sung Performance: “LOYALTY.” — Kendrick Lamar featuring Rihanna

Based on the results , everything worked out about as it should. 

Im shocked Jay-Z was shut out, but I totally can understand, I didn't think it was good project anyway. Im also shocked that SZA didn't  win best new artist. 

I was apprehensive about doing it but this admittedly was kind of fun.
