Bump It or Dump It #130

[Strong Bump] = Unquestionable Smash Hit.  Extremely rewind-worthy and one of the better records out currently. Next to no flaws to pick out, that you'll be supporting/playing daily.  Something you predict will be a Top-15 Hit or higher.

[Weak Bump] = A Good Moderate Hit. Quality & above average; has more positives than negatives.  Might need to grow on you/others, but could catch on.  Not a clear smash hit, but something you'd genuinely want people to check out, so you’ll be supporting/playing it occasionally. Something you predict will be a Top-50 hit.

[Weak Dump] = Sup-Par Record. Not bad, but definitely missing the mark somewhere. More negatives than positives. Listenable, as you might like some parts but not the whole composition.  You don’t hate it and could understand its buzz, but you know you won’t be supporting/playing it much.  Something you predict that won’t be on airwaves very long or have much replay value.

[Strong Dump] = Complete Trash.  A record you absolutely hate and has next to no positives at all.  Garbage, and a waste of your time; that you’d want to warn people away from.  Something that you’re sure you’ll never be supporting/playing ever, and predict that it’ll fail commercially.

"NO GUIDANCE" (Chris Brown f/ Drake),
Debuting @ #16 on Rhythmic/Club formats;
Debuting @ #15 on Urban formats;
Shipped to Pop 06/13/19;
via CBE Inc./RCA.,
[beginning w/ 2,388 + 2,279 Daily US Spins]. – Honestly it doesn’t matter what I think of the song it’s going to chart on multiple formats in the top 10; with this much star power it’d be a disappointment if it didn’t. But I do like the song, it has a summer nights and riding around with the windows down vibe to it. I expect it’ll chart in the 1-10 range for Rhythmic and Urban, it’ll probably eventually catch on and end up on the Adult R&B Charts also. – Weak Bump

"PRESS" (Cardi B),
Debuting @ #24 on Urban formats;
Debuting @ #20 on Rhythmic/Club formats;
via KSR/Atlantic.,
[beginning w/ 1,596 + 1,589 Daily US Spins]. – It’s an alright song, it honestly doesn’t really sound like a single, but at this point almost anything with Cardi on it is guaranteed to be a hit. I expect this song will chart in the 10-20 range on both Urban and Rhythmic formats, Weak Bump

"LOVE THEORY" (Kirk Franklin),
Debuting @ #5 on Adult/R&B formats;
Shipped to Urban 06/02/19;
via Fo Yo' Soul/RCA.,
[beginning w/ 1,585 + 47 Daily US Spins]. – It’s jamming. Kirk Franklin continues to produce crossover gospel music that jams. I don’t know if it’ll get enough spins on urban to chart, it’ll get those early morning inspirational and mix show spins, and a few spins through out the day. It’ll get the most love in Adult/ R&B formats, I expect it to end up taking the #1 spot. – Strong Bump

"THE LONDON" (Young Thug f/ J. Cole & Travis Scott),
Debuting @ #24 on Urban formats;
Debuting @ #28 on Rhythmic/Club formats;
via 300 Ent./Atlantic.,
[beginning w/ 1,421 + 1,140 Daily US Spins]. – I absolutely knew this would be a radio single, just off the combination of talent alone it would get a chance. I like that its well produced and that each artist brings their signature style to the track. It’s perfectly made for radio, it’s creative, it’s one of the best J.Cole verses in a while. I could hear this be played in a club and bumping out of car stereos. I expect this will chart on Urban and Rhythmic in the 10-20 range. Weak Bump

"MY TYPE" (Saweetie),
Debuting @ #29 on Rhythmic/Club formats;
Debuting @ #43 on Urban formats;
via Icy LLC./Warner Bros.,
[beginning w/ 1,421 + 837 Daily US Spins]. – I like it. Good use of the Peety Pablo sample. I can see it being used in the club to breathe new life into Freek – A – Leek, mixing them or playing back to back in the club will benefit the fellas and the ladies. The song is perfect for the club/party, because it’ll make people dance and get up to dance. I can see this charting high and sticking around for a while; it’s perfect summer vibes. I can see it charting in the 10-20 range on both Rhythmic and Urban Formats. – Weak Bump

"MONEY IN THE GRAVE" (Drake f/ Rick Ross),
Debuting @ #32 on Rhythmic/Club formats;
Debuting @ #42 on Urban formats;
via Frozen Moments/OVO/Republic,
[beginning w/ 957 + 847 Daily US Spins]. – It’s just a good song with bars and a decent beat. I particularly like the Ross verse. It’s a little dark for a Drake single, and it’s not a very catchy or radio contrived song, and that’s what I appreciate most about the song; the simplicity, no gimmicks, no games, no weird concepts.It might bump in the clubs, but its not for dancing to.It ‘ll jam out of your car system or bump in your earphones. I expect it to get radio play. I think it’ll chart in the 15-25 range on Rhythmic and in the 20-30 range on Urban – Strong Bump

"MANANA ES TOO LATE" (
Jesse & Joy f/ J. Balvin),
Debuting @ #14 on Spanish formats;
Debuting @ #44 on Latin-Urban formats;
Shipped to Rhythmic/Club & Urban 06/08/19;
via Warner-Latina.,
[beginning w/ 779 + 51 + 49 + 78 Daily US Spins]. – This is very much a son that will chart in Spanish and Latin formats, but wont in Urban because it’s mostly in Spanish and it’s not understandable to the average listener; which is a key component for it to be a crossover success. The beat is interesting to me, but it’s nothing I’d want to listen to. I don’t think it’ll chart in Urban,  rhythmic – Weak Dump

"THROW FITS" (London On Da Track f/ G-Eazy, City Girls, & Juvenile),
Debuting @ #48 on Urban formats;
Debuting @ #42 on Rhythmic/Club formats;
via London Prod./RCA.,
[beginning w/ 697 + 578 Daily US Spins].I really like this it’s jamming. It’s multidimensional and multi use; you can just jam to it in your car, you can play it in the club and it can be played in the strip club. I liked the Juvenile verse the best and I love the beat; it’s the the type of beat that at the very least makes you start to move your body before you get up to dance. I expect this to chart 20-30 range in Urban, and 25-35 range in Rhythmic. – Strong Bump

"SOMETHING KEEPS CALLING" (Raphael Saaqdiq f/ Rob Bacon),
Debuting @ #17 on Adult/R&B formats;
Shipped to Urban 06/16/19;
via Columbia.,
[beginning w/ 629 Daily US Spins]. – The song is not bad, but I listened to the instrumentation more so than the lyrics. It’s a good song but it’s not a memorable or catchy song to me. I can’t see it getting much spin on any format other than Adult/R&B,I expect it to chart in the 10-20 range. – Weak Bump
