My Music Perspective: BUMP IT or DUMP IT #131

[Strong Bump] = Unquestionable Smash Hit. Extremely rewind-worthy and one of the better records out currently. Next to no flaws to pick out, that you'll be supporting/playing daily. Something you predict will be a Top-15 Hit or higher.

[Weak Bump] = A Good Moderate Hit. Quality & above average; has more positives than negatives. Might need to grow on you/others, but could catch on. Not a clear smash hit, but something you'd genuinely want people to check out, so you’ll be supporting/playing it occasionally. Something you predict will be a Top-50 hit.

[Weak Dump] = Sup-Par Record. Not bad, but definitely missing the mark somewhere. More negatives than positives. Listenable, as you might like some parts but not the whole composition. You don’t hate it and could understand its buzz, but you know you won’t be supporting/playing it much. Something you predict that won’t be on airwaves very long or have much replay value.

[Strong Dump] = Complete Trash. A record you absolutely hate and has next to no positives at all. Garbage, and a waste of your time; that you’d want to warn people away from. Something that you’re sure you’ll never be supporting/playing ever, and predict that it’ll fail commercially.

It’s the type of song that’ll probably get a lot of radio play because it’s catchy but that you’ll get sick of hearing very quickly. I expect it’ll chart in the 10-20 range on urban. – Weak Dump

It’s not really a dance record, a song that makes you get up out of your seat, or a song that will have people attacking the dance floor for years to come; but it’s a song that’ll make you move your hips if you’re already up or at the bar etc. It’s the type of song the opening dj plays early in the night to get things warmed up. I’d expect to hear it on the radio, but it’s not they type of song, I’d expect to hear on every station across multiple platforms and formats. I expect it’ll chart in the 25-35 range on rhythmic formats. – Weak Dump

I could see this charting on Urban formats in the 30-40 range, it fits in with a lot of stuff the “ young and lil “ rappers have on radio. – Weak Dump

This will easily end up on Adult / R&B formats, I’m not sure it’ll chart on in any other formats or get a lot of airplay on other formats. It’ll probably get the early morning radio show formats, and maybe some late night spins but not many of the prime time spins for other formats. I think it’ll chart in the 15-25 range easily. – Strong Bump

I didn’t think it really needed the Shirley Murdock lyrical sample in it. It’ll do well on Adult/R&B, probably get early morning syndicated radio show spins, and late night spins; when traditional R&B tends to get spins; other than that I don’t think it’ll get enough spins in the midday/afternoon hours to chart on other formats. I think it’ll chart in the 15-25 range on Adult R&&B formats. – Weak Bump
