Bump It Or Dump It, 51

Strong Bump – A hit. I really like it. Rewind worthy

Weak Bump – It’s listenable. Something you have to be in the mood to listen to. Not Bad

Weak Dump – Don’t really like it. Might like parts of it but not the whole composition. Could grow on you. Underwhelming

Strong Dump – Get rid of it. Absolutely don’t like it. Garbage. Hate It

Simple rules:

As we do every week, I'll giving you the Top-9 new singles officially sent to Urban-format radio stations, that are either beginning to chart right now or expected to chart soon. In exchange, you can have & listen to them, and personally comment below, stating if you would *Bump It* or *Dump It* for each record and why... [Strong Bump, Weak Bump, Weak Dump, or Strong Dump]

"WOULD YOU MIND" (PrettyMUCH),
Debuting #44 on Pop formats;
via Syco/Columbia [592 Daily US Spins]. -  Sounds stereotypical boy-bandish, a mix of pop and a bad attempt at being cool by adding hip hop influences. It doesn’t sound authentic or original or even different. Sounds very contrived. Sounds like something that’ll be played in suburban hip hop dance classes and dance routines for years to come. There’s some skill shown in the singing. – Weak Dump

"SUBEME LA RADIO"
(Enrique Iglesias f/ Descemer Bueno, Zion, & Lennox),
Currently #48 on Pop formats;
+ Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats;
via [433 + 136 Daily US Spins]. – Sounds like one of those Latin songs; that blows up and becomes inescapable to the point of being annoying. Should play well the club and on Pop Stations. But It doesn’t do it for me – Strong Dump

"SOMETHING NEW" (Wiz Khalifa f/ Ty Dolla $ign),
Debuting #49 on Urban formats;
via Rostrum/Atlantic [396 Daily US Spins]. –Not a particularly good use of the sample. It doesn’t really stand out or grab interest. Doesn’t sound like a radio single – Weak Dump

"PULL UP HOP OUT"
(WillThaRapper),
Currently #50 on Urban formats;
+ Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats;
via Sweizy Gang/Republic [392 Daily US Spins]. – The flow needs to be tightened up. The lyrical ability is low, and it lacks originality or the ability to standout. Doesn’t sound like a radio single, it sounds like something that would be played on an underground radio station. – Strong Dump

"I GET THE BAG" (Gucci Mane f/ Migos),
Shipped out to Urban formats on 8/28/17;
via 1017/Atlantic [beginning w/ 171 Daily US Spins]. -  It’s the same old same. It sounds like just about every other Migos song. The same flow, same production, same type of hook, and same subject matter. It may get radio play and club spins because it’s mixable. – Strong Dump

"SPICE GIRL" (Aminé),
Shipped out to Urban formats on 8/25/17;
via Republic [beginning w/ 106 Daily US Spins]. – It’s catchy even tho the concept is super predictable. It should get some radio play, it’s simple, repetitive, and has a some sing along qualities to it. – Weak Bump

"PUSH" (Kenny Lattimore),
Debuting #39 on Adult Contemp. formats;
via eOne Music [92 Daily US Spins]. – Definitely for the adult crowd. But not his best work. It’s missing something. It doesn’t sound like a hit or even a standout record. – Weak Dump

"PILLS & AUTOMOBILES"
(Chris Brown f/ Yo Gotti, A-Boogie Wit'a Hoodie, & Kodak Black),
Shipping to Urban formats 8/23/17;
via RCA Records [beginning w/ 81 Daily US Spins]. – It’s a bad Chris Brown rap/sing track. Sounds like a forced collaboration. I expect it to get radio play however, just based on who’s on the track and the fact that it sound like basically everything else right now and that it’ll be super easy to mix. – Strong Dump

"A LIE" (French Montana f/ The Weeknd & Max B),
Shipped out to Urban formats on 8/29/17;
via Coke Boys/Bad Boy/Epic [beginning w/ 76 Daily US Spins]. – The parts of the song are good, but they would be much better separated from each other. The beat is interesting but it clashes with The Weeknd and French singing the hook. Probably should have picked one or the other. This may do decent on radio. I can really see it do well in the club. It has a party and pop bottle vibe to it. – Weak Bump
