Bump It or Dump It, Vol. 58

Weak Bump – It’s listenable. Something you have to be in the mood to listen to. Not Bad. A Good Moderate Hit. Quality & above average; has more positives than negatives. Might need to grow on you/others, but could catch on. Not a clear smash hit, but something you'd genuinely want people to check out, so you’ll be supporting/playing it occasionally. Something you predict will be a Top-50 hit.

Weak Dump – Don’t really like it. Might like parts of it but not the whole composition. Could grow on you. Underwhelming. Sup-Par Record. Not bad, but definitely missing the mark somewhere. More negatives than positives. Listenable, as you might like some parts but not the whole composition. You don’t hate it and could understand it’s buzz, but you know you won’t be supporting/playing it much. Something you predict that won’t be on airwaves very long or have much replay value.

Strong Dump – Get rid of it. Absolutely don’t like it. Garbage. Hate It.
Complete Trash. A record you absolutely hate and has next to no positives at all. Garbage, and a waste of your time; that you’d want to warn people away from. Something that you’re sure you’ll never be supporting/playing ever; and predict that it’ll fail commercially.

Simple rules:

As we do every week, I'll give you the Top-9 new singles officially sent to Urban-format radio stations, that are either beginning to chart right now or expected to chart soon. In exchange, you can have & listen to them, and personally comment below, stating if you would *Bump It* or *Dump It* for each record and why... [Strong Bump, Weak Bump, Weak Dump, or Strong Dump]

"TOO MUCH TO ASK" (Niall Horan),
Debuting #39 on Pop formats;
Shipped to Rhythmic/Club formats;
+ Adult Contemp./R&B formats 10/15/17;
via Capitol.
[beginning w/ 1,023 Daily US Spins]. ( frowned up face) It is not horrible, but it’s definitely a single that should have been shipped to urban radio stations. I could possibly understand pop, but I can’t see how this would fit in in a club setting either. I’m not a fan. – Strong Dump

"JUICE" (Yo Gotti),
Shipped to Urban + Rhythmic/Club formats 10/12/17;
via CMG/Roc Nation/Epic.
[beginning w/ 376 + 106 Daily US Spins]. – It’s boring, too simple and beneath Yo Gotti’s potential. I could see it in the club, and getting a few spins. It mixes well, but it doesn’t stand out. – Weak Dump

"DIAMOND" (Izzy Bizu),
Shipped to Adult Contemp./R&B + Urban formats 10/09/17;
via Epic.
[beginning w/ 198 Daily US Spins]. – It has a nice little groove to it. Will definitely work on adult contemporary, probably a morning or mid-day jam more so than an evening to late night jam. On more general radio stations I’m not sure if it’ll pick up major steam, it ‘s not the type of music or subject matter that appeals to younger less specialized audiences. – Weak Bump

"JOCELYN FLORES" (XxxTentacion),
Shipped to Urban + Rhythmic/Club formats 10/01/17;
via Bad Vibes 4Ever/EMPIRE Dist.
[beginning w/ 167 Daily US Spins]. – It’s actually really nice. It has a few issues that will probably affect its potential radio play. The subject matter, the profanity, and the length ( it’s short and sweet like an interlude). I like It, I just can’t see it getting major support – Weak Bump

"ALWAYS" (A1 f/ Chris Brown & Ty Dolla $ign),
Shipped to Urban + Rhythmic/Club formats 10/11/17;
via WAV Media.
[beginning w/ 141 Daily US Spins]. -  Its ok, it’s not bad. But it left me feeling indifferent, it didn’t move me one way or the other. It doesn’t stand out, it doesn’t seem new. The format and subject matter have been done to death. I can’t see it being a major player, maybe it gets a little buzz and a few spins here and there. – Weak Bump

"PUT ME ON SOMETHIN'" (P-Lo f/ E-40),
Shipped to Rhythmic/Club + Urban formats 9/27/17;
via P-Lo Pub./EMPIRE Dist.
[beginning 87 + 79 Daily US Spins]. – I can see this playing in the club more so than the radio. This seems more like a local or regional record than a national record. I don’t expect it to crossover or blow up, it doesn’t sound like a single. – weak dump

"I FALL APART" (Post Malone),
Shipped to Urban + Rhythmic/Club formats 10/17/17;
via Republic.
[beginning w/ 68 + 81 Daily US Spins]. – Doesn’t work for me. I honestly can't imagine this is in the club, so I can’t understand sending it to club formats. It also leaves me kind of numb. It doesn’t seem like a single – Weak Dump

"BRICK" (Trouble f/ Skippa Da Flippa),
Shipped to Urban formats 8/30/17;
via Duck Tape Ent/2Tru Ent.
[beginning w/ 74 Daily US Spins]. – It’s a good song for the club, it just emits the soundtrack of low lights, neon or fluorescent lights, smoke and maybe a pole. It doesn’t sound like a big radio single, but it can get a few spins. It's definitely mixable with the current trends. It’s a very simple lyrics and hooks for people to sing along too, but the feature verse is the star and savior of the show. – Weak Bump

"REVENGE" (Pink f/ Eminem),
Shipped to Pop + Rhythmic/Club formats 10/13/17;
via RCA Records. – It underwhelms from the beginning starting with the beat selection. I expect better musically from both Pink and Em. The subject matter is right down both of their alleys, and I expected something epic from two people of their calibers. This came off kind of corny. – Weak Dump
