Little Brother - May The Lord Watch

I listened to Little Brother's #newalbum - May The Lord Watch. It's very balanced, good beats and good rhymes; but no one thing distorts the other. Excellent grown folk hip hop, that's age-appropriate, relatable, and relevant. They don't try to be anything that they’re not or more than they are and they're not trying to catch new fans. It's lyrically dense but creative, clever and at times comical. It's a good concept album that picks up where their previous album The Minstrel Show left off but also moves it forward. It's nostalgic to hear Pooh and Phonte together, slightly disappointing that it's not with 9th also; but the LB sound is not sacrificed. I didn't have a favorite track, I kind of liked each about the same, I didn't have a go to track because it's the type of album that's a whole album listen, it flows so seamlessly that you'll listen and possibly relisten without even noticing. It won't get radio play or be in clubs, but it's a good headphone listen.  I'd give it an A
